Our Mission
Idaho2Fly’s mission is to support, educate and help men with cancer rise above their disease. Our goal is simple: To bring men with cancer together through the sport of fly fishing and a variety of year-round support programs to help them find hope, connection, camaraderie and brotherhood. Men fighting cancer need more than treatment, they need connection, community and a chance enjoy life again.
Idaho2Fly, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, offers expense paid retreats to men with cancer giving them the opportunity to experience the thrilling sport of fly fishing, enjoy Idaho’s spectacular scenery, get away from their day-to-day challenges, and gain a new outlook on life. But the retreats are not just about fishing — trained Facilitators encourage the guests to share their stories and learn to communicate openly about the frustrations, fears and trials of cancer.
Idaho2Fly’s unique approach, fly fishing retreats and year-round programs create a powerful platform for men to navigate cancer with resilience and community. It doesn’t end when the retreat is over, the gear is packed up and everyone has gone home. Biweekly coffee gatherings, local one-day local fishing outings and art, photography and fly fishing classes are also available to help keep guests engaged, supported and connected with other men facing similar challenges.
“The Fishing Friends, Staff Conversations And Friendships Are What I Will Remember. Tears Were Shed And My Spirit Healed.”
